Frequently asked questions

Are disinfectants and sanitizers effective against COVID-19?

Yes! The CDC and Health Canada have approved several different cleaning products that combat against the novel corona virus responsible for the COVID-19 strain. These products range in toxicity and some can be harmful if not property trained or handled by a qualified technician. It is important to always use any product as intended while wearing all appropriote PPE in addition to always having access to a products SDS.

Electrostatic Sprayers

What is an ESS (Electrostatic Sprayer)

An electrostatic sprayer (ESS) is an electronic pump sprayer that is capable of producing a very fine mist that ranges from 30-150 micon particle size. This will depend on the make and model, however; most industry standard ESS are within those ranges. In addtion, the ESS is known for its incredibly effective electrostatic option. Because our environment is negatively charged; when this option is used, it positivily charges the cleaning product particles so when the product comes in contact with negatively charged objects, the disinfectant or sanitizer forms a cacoon around the object when sprayed.

ULV Foggers

What is a ULV fogger?

ULV stands for Ultra Low Volume and it is a cold fogger that applies disinfectants and sanitizers to small, medium and large areas efficently and effectively and that requires no wiping afterwards because the droplet sizes are between 20-80 microns.

Why use a ULV fogger?

ULV foggers are extremely good at applying solutions with very little product waste which in turn saves money because we can pass the savings on to the client and also saves hourly time because we dont have to wipe everything down afterwards resulting in an affordable, efficient and effective service that can help keep our clients, their families, co-workers, employees, patients or customers safe from harmful pathogengs.

Cleaning Process

What disinfectant and sanitizer do you use?

Our product of choice is Bioesque-botanical disinfectant cleaning solution. It is effective at killing 99.99% of bacteria, viruses, fungi and mold. It is EPA, CDC, and Health Canada approved and is environmentally friendly plant based and 100% food grade safe.

Whats the difference between cleaning, disinfecting and sanitizing?

Knowing the difference is half the battle. Knowing how to combat it requires experience! Cleaning is removing the dust, debris, corrosion or dirt from any surface by way of sweeping, moping, scrubbing or washing away the contaminates. Disinfecting is inactivating or destroying bacteria, viruses, fungi and mold on nonporous, hard surfaces. Disinfecting is considered one of the most reliable ways to help combat the spread of germs and pathogens. Sanitizing is for porous surfaces such as carpet, cloths, upholstry and anything else that is not considered a hard surface. Sanitizing only reduces bacteria listed on a products label and in laundry.

Are you using the disinfectant correctly?

Yes! We have had in-house specific training to make sure we are following all of the CDC and Health Canada guidelines on cleaning, disinfection and sanitization. In addtion, we follow our products specific guidelines for safe and effective use with the recommended applicators. We also ensure we follow Alberta OH&S guidelines for safe product handeling and our technicians are trained and certified by the Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI) in the COVID-19 disinfection and safety course.

Do you do anything differently than others?

In addtion to industry standards we pre-clean high touch points and common areas first. Then we use an ESS to ensure proper coverage of product on hight touch surfaces, bulky furniture and objects second. Then we follow it up with our third and final step; ULV fogging. This triple layer service results in a clean, disinfected and sanitized environment. We recommend our routine cleaning services to protect against pathogens that could potentially be a daily threat.
